Shelly Harper

Vice President of People + Culture

Shelly Harper joined the Nathan Cummings Foundation in 1999. Over the past 19 years, she held the position of Human Resources Assistant, Generalist, Office Manager, Director of Human Resources and is now the Vice President of People and Culture.

Born in Guyana, S.A, Shelly traveled frequently with her family and from her childhood travel experience developed the dream of becoming a travel consultant. She moved to the United States for better career opportunities and worked in the travel industry for seven years.

Shelly has a keen interest in philanthropy and is a member of Philanthropy NY, Foundation Administrators Network, which supports and connects administrative professionals of New York grantmaking organizations. As a member of this network, she works with other members of the philanthropic community. She is also a member of Society for Human Resources (SHRM).

Shelly holds a B.S. in Human Services Cum Laude from New York City College of Technology (CUNY), Human Resources Management certificate from New York University and a Masters of Science in Labor Relations from Baruch College (CUNY).
