Associate, Racial Justice

Raina Sutton joined the Racial Justice team at the Nathan Cummings Foundation in 2024 and brings over thirteen years of experience working with nonprofit organizations to deliver transformative programs. Driven by an impetus to leverage storytelling to activate, and not extract, she helps purpose-driven organizations measure and maximize their impact. In her current role, she supports the management of the Racial Justice portfolio’s assets, data, and key performance indicators, and works with the Chief Impact Officer & Senior Director of Racial Justice to implement the foundation’s racial justice strategies.

Prior to NCF, she conducted applied research projects, implementation studies, and impact evaluations to support data-informed decision-making and center community voices in the criminal justice, workforce development, and affordable housing sectors. As a consultant, she holds equity at the center of her approach and is passionate about increasing the capacity for learning to accelerate impact. Her vision for social justice is grounded by a commitment to ensuring that dispossessed and underinvested communities have equitable pathways to mobility.
