Centrifuge

Centrifuge is a multimedia exhibition featuring work by 16 artists that explores the complexity of contemporary life in Israel through the marginalized communities that exist within the peripheries of society. Rather than depicting the country as a unified or stable entity, Centrifuge presents work that engages with Israel’s many diverse edges – whether ethnic, religious, cultural or political – and the vying centrifugal forces that push some communities to society’s edges and others to its center. The show was curated by Chen Tamir and organized by Artis, a nonprofit organization that broadens international awareness of contemporary art from Israel. Featured artists: Inbal Abergil, Anisa Ashkar, Orit Ben Shitrit, Zoya Cherkassky, Dor Guez, Shai Ignatz, Luciana Kaplun, Miki Kratsman, Olga Kundina, Anna Lukashevsky, Anya Lukin, Aim Deuelle Luski, Ido Michaeli, Eli Petel, Roee Rosen, and Natalia Zourabova.
